On September 12th, 2015, ChamberLab provided music for Bennuval!, celebrating the University of Arizona’s NASA-funded OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return mission.
The finale of the program was a collaboration between ChamberLab and Tucson’s Flam Chen New Circus and Fire Theatre, featuring the standard non-standard ChamberLab ensemble side by side with space-themed stilt-walkers and other oddities in a marvelous three-part exploration of other worlds.
Also featured in the program was comedy troupe Tucson Improv Movement, and master of ceremonies Geoff Notkin, former star of the Science Channel series Meteorite Men, who spoke at great length about his various adventures.
The ensemble included: Mindi Acosta, flute; Cassandra Bendickson, bassoon; Chris Black, double bass; Jimmy Carr, bass drum and radio; Ben DeGain, vibraphone; Brian Hicks, reeds; Joseph Pagan, viola; Dante Rosano, trumpet and keyboard; Tony Rosano, sousaphone; Klara Wojtkowska, violin.
